our story

How it started

Brad and Sarah

It all started with a digital rose.

Like many modern love stories, ours began online, but what started as a simple connection quickly became something much more. Brad caught Sarah's attention not only with that digital rose, but also with the thoughtful questions that followed. Instead of small talk, they found themselves sharing long messages and meaningful conversations, learning about each other one story at a time.

Before long, they realized they had a lot in common. They shared similar values, a love of freedom, and a genuine curiosity about each other. Hours seemed to disappear whenever they talked, and their connection continued to grow with every message.

When they finally met in person, the conversation was just as effortless. Their first date lasted five hours, and somehow, so did the next several dates. They laughed, shared their dreams, and discovered that being together felt easy from the very beginning.

As the months passed, friendship blossomed into love. They became each other's favourite person to talk to, to laugh with, and to build dreams alongside. Then, on their one-year anniversary, Brad asked Sarah to spend forever with him, and she happily said yes.

Now, they are excited to begin their next chapter together as husband and wife, and as true partners in life and love. They are grateful for every message, every date, and every moment that led them here, and they cannot wait to celebrate this special day with the people they love most.

Schedule & Venues

Two stops, both in the heart of Ottawa, with plenty of time in between to find your way.

2:00 PM – 3:30 PM

Ceremony

Central Park West

The Glebe · West of Bank St., Ottawa, ON

Brad and Sarah will be exchanging vows on the open lawn in Central Park West, between Clemow Ave and Allan Place. Nestled in the heart of the city, the park's mature trees and winding pathways make a charming setting for the ceremony. Just minutes from the reception venue, it is also a wonderful place to spend the afternoon, with scenic pathways, views of the canal, and a cozy café and bistro only a short walk away.

Your presence is the greatest gift. If you would like to do something more, here are a few funds that mean a lot to us as we start this next chapter.

Honeymoon Fund

We're planning to go to Greece for our first adventure as newlyweds! From exploring the streets of Athens to soaking up the beauty of Crete, we're excited to make memories together, enjoy great food, and celebrate the start of married life. Thanks for helping make our honeymoon extra special!

Home Sweet Home Fund

As we combine our households, we're excited to make our home truly ours. We already have most of the essentials, so this fund will help us add personal touches, tackle future projects, and create a space we'll love sharing together.

Date Night Fund

We're big believers that the best memories are made together, so we're making date nights a priority! Whether it's dinner out, a weekend adventure, or trying something new, this fund will help us keep the fun going long after the wedding day.

good to know

Frequently Asked

Most of what you might be wondering about the day, all in one place.

Can I bring my kids?

We adore your little ones, but to keep our day intimate we're keeping the guest list adults-only, with the exception of immediate family. If you fall into that category, you're warmly invited to bring your children. Please list their names and ages on the RSVP so we can plan accordingly.

Can I bring a plus-one?

If your invitation included a plus-one, you'll see the option to add their name on the RSVP form. We're keeping the celebration close, so please reach out to us directly if you're unsure.

When should I RSVP by?

Please RSVP no later than July 1, 2026 so we can finalize the headcount with our caterers.

What should I wear?

Garden semi-formal. Think breezy dresses, light suits, and shoes you don't mind on grass. The ceremony is outdoors, so dress for August weather (and a backup layer for the evening).

Where exactly is the ceremony?

We'll be married in Central Park West, the section of Central Park just west of Bank Street in The Glebe. Look for the gathering on the lawn around 1:30 PM. The ceremony begins at 2:00 PM and runs until about 3:30 PM.

How do I get from the ceremony to the reception?

Cantina Gia is just a short walk south on Bank Street, only a few minutes from the ceremony lawn. There are two hours between the ceremony and reception to enjoy The Glebe, so feel free to walk, drive, or grab a coffee nearby in the meantime.

Is there parking?

Guests are welcome to park at St Matthew's Anglican Church (130 Glebe Ave, at the corner of Glebe Ave and Bank St). It's a short walk to the ceremony lawn in Central Park and just across Bank St from Cantina Gia, so you can leave your car there for both. We recommend rideshare home if you plan to enjoy a drink at the reception.

Where should I stay?

We don't have a formal hotel block, but anything in The Glebe, Centretown, or downtown Ottawa will put you close to both venues. We're happy to suggest a few favourites, just send us a note.

Will there be a gift registry?

Your presence is the gift. If you would like to do something more, we have a few funds set up on our registry, our honeymoon to Greece, a Home Sweet Home fund, and a Date Night fund. You'll find them in the Registry section on this site.

What if I have dietary restrictions?

Please let us know on the RSVP form. Cantina Gia will accommodate allergies and dietary needs as long as we share them ahead of time.
